Hello Students!

Today, we will be going to the lab to work on uploading images onto our Weebly Blogs.  If you don't have your pages on your blog yet, be sure to include that first!  The directions for creating a blog and adding pages is located above.

Be sure to have the following pages on your blog:
  1. My Art  (These are the production grades from class)
  2. Sketchbooks  (These are your homework assignments or thumbnail sketches you create in class.)
  3. Other Artwork  (These are previous artworks, artworks you do on your own time or in NAHS can be featured on this page.)

Next, begin uploading photos onto your weebly blog.  See how in the steps below:

Things to think about when taking photos:  Be sure you have good quality photos, they are completely strait (not at an angle), they are cropped with no extra space around the edges.  (see good vs. bad quality photos below)
Picture
Picture
  1. First take photos of all your artwork with your device.  (see the list of what to take below.)
  2. Next, save your photos to your edmodo backpack.  (we have found that this works best.)
  3. Then open up your weebly blog on a computer.  Sign in here.
  4. Once you are in the weebly blog editor, click and drag the image icon to your "my art" page.  You will then be able to upload an image from your computer.  (from the edmodo backpack)
  5. Be sure to add a tile for each image using the "Title" icon that you will also click and drag to your page.
  6. If you would like to add your own commentary about each image, you may do so using the "text" icon.
  7. Here is the list of what photos you should be adding to your blog:
    1. Photorealism Square (should be put on the "my Art" page)
    2. Skeleton Value Drawing (should be put on the "my Art" page)
    3. Pen and Ink Animal Portrait (should be put on the "my Art" page)
    4. Any COMPLETED altered book pages (should be put on the "my Art" page)
    5. Sketchbook cover (This should be put on the "Sketchbook" page of your blog)
    6. Inking practice pages/ thumbnail sketches/ colored pencil testing (this should be on the "sketchbook" page)
    7. Photograph all of your sketchbook assignments thus far and put them on the "Sketchbook page"
    8. Any other artwork that you have done outside of class or in previous art classes can be added to your "More/Other Art" page.
    9. Any work you have done for art contests can be put on the "More/Other Art" page for bonus points.

Below, you can see a video demo of how to add images to your weebly blog.  For a full-screen version, click on this link!!

Once you have created your weebly blog, I have designed an assignment to familiarize you with the free online editing software, Pixlr.  We will be looking at the photographs of Annie Leibovitz and colorizing them with our own color schemes.

Follow the step-by-step instructions in the word document below in order to colorize your own Annie Leibovitz photograph.  Make sure you re-save the work using your name so you can keep the work you have done.

Please note, Pixlr doesn't work with google chrome.
