The Georgia Watercolor Society is very pleased to offer the opportunity for public high school Graduating Seniors
(Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Clayton, Gwinnett and Henry Counties) who will pursue further studies in the visual arts, to enter the Twelfth Annual GWS Scholarship Exhibition.
Awards anticipated will total $2400 (gift certificates and cash awards). Thanks to Binders Art Supplies and Frames for hosting this exhibit and for their generous donations.
GWS must receive your entries by March 1, 2019.
All entries must be original (created by the student from personal photos or imagination) water media/watercolor (watercolor, inks, watercolor pencil, fluid acrylics) on paper or watercolor canvas, yupo, or clayboard, no larger than 22” by 30” image size. No copies (calendar, magazine art) will be accepted. Watercolor collage will be accepted if the collage has been painted by the artist. Pen and Ink and watercolor will also be accepted. Work accepted must be properly framed or matted and put in plastic sleeves (www.clearbags.com). Watercolor canvas does not have to be framed under glass. Using a wire is better than sawtooth hanger on the back of the frame.
- Take a digital picture of your painting and save it in a computer file as a jpeg. One to two entries per student may be submitted.
- Crop the image so that the entire painting is visible without extraneous background or framing showing. The saved image should represent the painting exactly.
- Image size should be 5” by 7” at 300 dpi, submitted as a jpeg.
