KELL HIGH SCHOOL ART |
|
Kell Visual Art students created portraits for this year’s inductees into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame. The five AP Drawing and AP 2D Design students created individual artworks representing each inductee. Cydnee Gagnon created a digital artwork for Ga Tech Quarterback, Joe Hamilton; Meghan Coughlin selected Atlanta Braves outfielder, Andruw Jones; Emily Ingle depicted Atlanta Braves pitching coach, Leo Mazzone, Andy Kellos painted a portrait for Atlanta Falcons running back, Gerald Riggs; and Leslie "Toyin" Olurebi chose Ga Tech basketball coach John "Whack" Hyder. Under the direction of art teacher, Julie Denison, students researched the inductees and created portraits that celebrate the athletic achievements and contributions of each individual. This is the fifth year that Kell High School has collaborated with the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame. The artworks will be formally displayed at the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to be held at the Emory Conference Center Hotel on February 16th.
