Below is the checklist for what needs to be on your weebly blog. Remember that this counts as 2 project grades. All blogs need to be updated by May 18th (or the day of your exam if you are a senior). Bonus points will be given to those that turn in your checklist early!! Please see Mrs. Denison for questions.
The altered book assignments are due by May 18th. (If you are a senior, they will be due the last day I see you.). Below is a copy of the final altered book checklist. However, if you have the original colored checklist, I will give you 5 bonus points!!
Hello Students!
Today, we will be going to the lab to work on uploading images onto our Weebly Blogs. If you don't have your pages on your blog yet, be sure to include that first! The directions for creating a blog and adding pages is located above. Be sure to have the following pages on your blog:
Next, begin uploading photos onto your weebly blog. See how in the steps below: Things to think about when taking photos: Be sure you have good quality photos, they are completely strait (not at an angle), they are cropped with no extra space around the edges. (see good vs. bad quality photos below)
Below, you can see a video demo of how to add images to your weebly blog. For a full-screen version, click on this link!! Students are beginning their artwork for metal-morphosis this week. They are bending and dripping metal in a surreal way using metallic colored pencils on black paper.
Once you finish your man and machine project, you and your partner will need to write a short explanation (no more than 300 words) of how the piece relates to the "Man & Machine" theme and connects to Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Math. (STEM). (for ideas on what to write, click on the gallery link here for samples.)
Then, you need to submit your artwork image and the statement to the contest website. Click on the link here!! Students will be creating a collaborative artwork for the Man and Machine competition. They will include ideas about the relationship between man and machine, OR use a machine in a new way to create art, OR build a machine that is aesthetically pleasing. Last week we prepped our backgrounds with blind contour portraits and begin layering washes of color to break up the space. This week we will choose acrylic colors to add to our mixed media as well as textures to add movement and pattern to bring us to our focal point.
