Choice #1: Famous Painting Re-Imagined
Do some searching for famous images from the world of art history-- any time period from ancient to modern. Find one that you can manipulate and re-imagine to fit with the theme of your book. Be sure to include visual journaling techniques.
Choice #2: Gelli-print Stencil
Follow the steps in this link to create a stencil that fits the theme of your book and use that as the main subject in gel-printmaking.
To keep us on track with our altered books, I'd thought I'd create a summery of what we have begun thus-far for our altered book pages! (remember, each 2-page spread can/should include visual journaling techniques AND be focused around a theme that you are developing for your book.

We started off the semester by collaging different materials and textured papers and then drawing or painting on top in the style of your theme.

For this 2 page spread, you need to include a quote, stick with your theme and add some mixed media layers with visual journaling techniques.
Spread #3: famous painting/ artwork & Visual Journaling techniques Or Gelli print with stencils
For this 2 page spread, you need to include your take on a famous artist painting or masterwork. Try to ensure that it goes with your theme of your overall book.
Spread #4: Pocket & Visual Journaling techniques
For this 2-page spread, you will continue to stick with your theme, but include some sort of pocket (and something to put inside the pocket!). Also, include visual journaling techniques.
