Ceramics 1 will be taught again next school year 2020-2021!! Its super-fun, so sign up if you love ceramics!
Below is the checklist for our weebly blog. Be sure all images are cropped to view the entire image without extraneous background. No phone shadows should be visible and each image should have a title. All Blogs should be completed by May 15th. (May 10th for seniors)
Today we will be working on taking photographs of your artwork and uploading these to your blog. Remember, having a completed blog will count as 2 project grades at the end of the semester, so don't fall behind!! For those of you who are new, or were out the last day we worked on the weebly blogs, you may want to check out my previous post here . It includes the list of what we previously needed to upload, some tips on taking photographs, as well as a short video on how to upload images to your website. If you need instructions on how to create your blog, download the file at the top of this post. For today, you will need to take photographs of all your completed projects, sketchbooks, and completed altered books. For a complete list, see below. With Ceramics, or any 3D sculpture, you need to be sure to include at least 2 view so the viewer can get a better idea of the form and/or how the decoration changes on each side. Also, be sure to photograph so that there is no distracting background!! See some of the samples below: On the "my art" page, you should have the following: (the list will grow as we do more!)
On the "sketchbook' page, you should have the following:
Check out how I used the scratching tools to create my sgraffito tile. Please notice how I tried to get about a 50/50 mix of the underglaze and the scratched areas of clay showing. To see a full screen version of the video, click here.
Read the handout CAREFULLY and follow the instructions to create 1 sketchbook page that you will turn in at the end of class on the artist, Mike Murphy. The video can be found below, or by clicking this link.
Click on the above link to watch the Art 21 segment on Arlene Shechet. Follow the directions on the handout in class to create a sketchbook response to the artist. You may use the colored pencils or watercolors on your sketchbook page. Be sure to take a picture to post on the "other" page on your blog and turn in the sketchbook page to the sub.
