Hello there! This week's "Photo Friday" assignment is for you to take landscapes using the rule of thirds as a compositional tool. These can be urban landscapes, or completely natural landscapes, or a bit of both. Choose your best two of the 10 you take to post to your blog by Thursday, May 7th.
Our fabulous Cobb County supervisor and former Kell High School art teacher, Laura LaQuaglia, leads this lesson in her video below: Option #12: Printing with MarkersOption #11: #toonmechallenge
This one is for those of you who want to challenge yourself with digital art. The idea is to take a photograph of yourself and then choose a part of that photograph to "cartoon yourself" using any type of digital app such as Photoshop, Pixlr, PicsArt, etc. You can use a phone, iPad, tablet or computer. I am not the best at this, but you can find a ton of online tutorials. I will link a couple below!! Check out all the samples!
Here is another link to a #toonmechallenge tutorial using Photoshop, but Pixlr would also work for this. https://youtu.be/2svf-8y0_pQ
Option #10: Forced Perspective Photo challenge
Forced perspective is a technique that employs optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is.
For this short project, take at least one images that utilizes "forced perspective" and upload it to your blog!! Option #9: Collagraph crayon prints
This assignment is something you can do at home using simple materials. We are going to be making a variation of a Collagraph print. A Collagraph is a basic method of printmaking using a board with collage materials glued onto it to form a relief surface with a variety of textures.
The image below was created by an 8th grade student using layered cardboard, then inked up and printed.
This artist, Bonnie Murray, created a collaged block with wallpaper, illustration board, and textured paper. She then inked up the block and hand-printed onto paper.
